Legoland… Again??

When we went to Legoland in November we received free return tickets to the park. Wanting to take advantage of them before the expiration date at the end of March we decided to head back down to the San Diego area again. This time we invited our friends the Hinnrichs. We stayed the night of Sunday, February 28 and then hit the park all day Monday, March 1. We had a great time and it was nice that Tyler had some friends the same age to hang out with. We actually even discovered another area of the park we didn’t get to see the last time and they even got some play time in at the water park area.

Weston’s first roller coaster ride, he actually went on it twice!

Woo hoo! The kids were waiting to play in the water all day.

Roller Derby – Solvang-style

The local Veterans Memorial Building was due to have its floor refinished near the end of March, but before it was done the Solvang Parks and Rec department decided to hold a couple of roller skating events. For a few dollars you could skate for a couple of hours around the main hall just like the roller skating rinks of old. After a mad dash to get Tyler some beginner roller skates we checked it out Saturday, March 13. Tyler was very excited about skating for the first time, but Alana was a little unsure of whether or not she was going to be able to stay up on her roller blades. It had been at least 10 years since she used them last. Amazingly enough no one took a major fall. We’re still trying to figure out how we managed that.

Weston was an old pro

Yay! We finally made it down to one hand!

The Oregonians are coming! The Oregonians are coming!!

Bill’s sister Cheryl and her daughter Rachel took some time out of their busy schedules to visit us for a couple of days. They flew out late on Wednesday the 17th and stayed until that Sunday the 21st. They picked the perfect time to do it too. We had a little bit of a warm spell that week, which was perfect for 2 Oregonians trying to escape the overcast skies of home. But Tyler didn’t care about that. All he knew was that he had 2 more people giving him all their attention and playtime. He also got to go to 2 different beaches (one of his favorite things to do) while they were here which made him an extremely happy camper. We’re really happy Tyler got to spend some quality time with his Aunt Cheryl and cousin Rachel. He had a blast visiting with them and was sad to see his new favorite playmates go. Come back and visit us soon!
